We learned at the D23 Expo that there will be a huge celebration around the world for the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. It was just announced that, at the Disneyland Resort, festivities will begin on January 27th, 2023 and will last the entire year.
With new shows in both parks, special food and beverage options, new sparkly castle decor and banner, and of course merchandise, there is so much to look forward to with the Disney100 celebrations.
Sleeping Beauty’s castle will be adorned with beautiful platinum banners with two new fountains on either side of the moat. A night, a new projection show called “Wondrous Journeys,” will light up the sky which will feature every single Walt Disney Animation Studios film to date! The show will also have projection effects on Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, the façade of “It’s a Small World” and the Rivers of America. On select nights (most likely weekends and holidays) the show will include fireworks will light up the sky above Disneyland and feature a new song called, “It’s Wondrous.”
There will be a brand new World of Color Show that lights up Disney’s California Adventure which will feature a new original song called, “Start A Wave.”
Mickey’s Toontown will open in spring of 2023 and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open on January 27th!
A new parade will grace the streets of Disneyland called, “Magic Happens” which will celebrate the magical moments from so many Disney stories.
