After a special and very short limited time return, Disneyland's Main Street Electrical Parade (MSEP), which is celebrating its 50th year, is coming to an end on September 1. Today, Disney announced that along with the parade, the Disneyland Forever fireworks spectacular will end as well.
While we aren't sure what parade will grace Main Street next, Halloween is indeed coming early this year as a Halloween night time projection show will replace Disneyland Forever and begin September 2... right before Labor Day.
The MSEP features beautiful floats, characters and live performers covered in LED lights. There are over 600,000 electronically controlled lights which are controlled by radio control along different areas of the parade’s route while the lights, synchronized to music, light up Main Street. The original parade ran from 1972 until 1996 in Disneyland and returned briefly in 2017, 2019 and this year (2022) to celebrate its 50th anniversary. It had a good run in Disneyland’s California Adventure in 2001-2010.
